The Scottish Government funded service, Business Gateway, wanted to change its perceived relevance to growth businesses. The solution was a digital and print magazine, and a brand new podcast channel.

The brief

Business Gateway was looking for a way to promote its relevance to growth businesses, not just start ups. They hired the creative agency Whitespace, which outsourced the editorial work to White Light. The brief was to create and deliver content that simultaneously engaged the needs of growth business leaders in unique ways and explained exactly what Business Gateway can offer growth businesses.

Combining longer form ‘brain food’ with more bite-sized content, Amplify was launched as a digital magazine on the Readymag platform. Issues featured low-downs with famous faces from the Scottish business scene, practical guides on various aspects of business growth and compelling explorations of the issues that matter to Scotland’s growth business community – all brought to life by Whitespace designers. Amplify was also launched as a print magazine and the first series of The Amplify Podcast soon followed, featuring Harris Tweed Hebrides Creative Director, Mark Hogarth. The production for this podcast was done by White Light, with Whitespace overseeing promotion.
