Alumni magazines

Alumni engagement is how universities, schools and colleges build life-long relationships with former graduates. The purpose is to create a network which provides the instutution with a source of expertise, contacts throughout various industries and of course, fundraising.

It’s not a one-sided affair either. Alumni benefit professionally from the same networks and there’s a strong social aspect too. Being an active and engaged alumni can be rewarding in a number of ways.

Alumni magazines are an important tool for communicating the activities, needs and priorities of institutions and helping to build and maintain this relationship.

Charterhouse is one of England’s top schools set in a beautiful campus in the Surrey countryside. As part of a review of alumni engagement, they asked us to help them revamp their alumni magazine. The aim was to turn it into a modern publication that their global readership would be interested to receive.

The new marketing team at the University of Hull wanted a complete overhaul of their flagship alumni magazine with a new look, feel and focus. By giving more space for writing and design we created a reading experience more like a Sunday paper magazine than a piece of alumni marketing.
