Mixing it up: White Light's marketing event

In times of economic uncertainty, market disruption and technological flux, there’s nothing to be gained from doing what you've always done – you’ve got to shake things up. That was the theme of Mixing It Up, our event at Edinburgh’s Dirty Martini Bar at the end of February, at which we served up a veritable cocktail of inspiration for comms and marketing professionals.

A large group of clients and friends of White Light gathered for an afternoon of seven talks, all devised and presented by the White Light team. We started with future gazing into comms and marketing trends for 2019, explored 'the anxiety of the naturist swimmer’, debated the balance of logic and emotion in campaigns, assessed the role of the modern designer, revealed some favourite gems from the creative treasure trove, delved into the Library of Mistakes and got everyone on their feet with a fake news quiz. And before more drinks, food and informal chats, the founder of our World Whisky Day project, Blair Bowman, staged a highly entertaining cocktail demonstration.

You can view more photos and the video from the event below, or have a look on our Facebook page.

We've been bowled over by the warm and generous feedback we’ve received from our lovely guests, and look forward to seeing you all again. If you weren’t there, please do get in touch if you’d like to hear more about any of the topics we discussed.
