Hot Rum Cow is world’s best booze publication
Hot Rum Cow has been named the Best Cocktail and Spirits Publication at the 2017 Spirited Awards in New Orleans.
The Spirited Awards are the finale of the annual Tales of the Cocktail festival and Hot Rum Cow, which is entirely written and designed by the White Light team, triumphed over a strong field of publications from all around the world including finalists The Daily Beast, Difford’s Guide and Class magazine.
The award recognises “outstanding journalism about bars, bartenders, cocktails and spirits” and was judged by some of the most respected individuals in the drinks industry. With no one from the Hot Rum Cow team in New Orleans to accept the award it fell to Georgie Bell, Bacardi’s Global Malts Ambassador and a friend of the magazine, to pick up the crystal trophy.
Co-founders of Tales of the Cocktail, Ann and Paul Tuennerman said: “The Spirited Awards get more and more competitive because our industry keeps raising its game every single year. Congrats to this year’s winners on a monumental accomplishment.”
Since being founded in 2007, the Spirited Awards have grown to become one of the most prestigious and sought-after awards in the drinks world. Winners were voted on by two panels of more than 100 industry experts.
