Inspiring events professionals for a major conference venue

Ideas Hub has constantly evolved with changes in technology and communications trends, developing from a print newsletter into a magazine and then two digital formats.

As part of their content marketing strategy, the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), a long-time client of White Light, approached us to introduce a digital comms publication. We were tasked with  creating an engaging, digital platform to showcase the latest ideas, inspiration and news from the world of conferences and events.

Having previously produced the EICC’s comms magazine, which ran for many years and became a key element of the organisation’s marketing strategy, the EICC wanted to take their comms in a new direction. 

Having seen White Light’s pioneering work in digital magazines using Adobe Flash (remember that?), they asked us to take the project online and create a lively animated version with embedded video. 

This move saw reader and stakeholder engagement soar but in time the online landscape changed and we had to advise that, with mobile signalling the demise of Flash, it would be sensible to create a microsite instead. This ran successfully for a number of years, proving highly successful for the EICC.

Fast forward to today, and our work with the EICC has evolved once more. As they looked to enhance their own website, we saw the opportunity to integrate our inspiring content more closely with their corporate site and, with a rebrand to Ideas Hub, moved our content into the heart of the EICC website.

This move freed us up to spend less time and resource on build and deployment and more on the content itself. It’s an example of where we are not just delivering value to our clients but also working in tandem with their existing digital agency to ensure a smooth process.

Through the educational content on Ideas Hub, we’ve enabled the EICC to add credit to their brand and establish trust with their readers. In fact, the Ideas Hub also benefits the EICC internally, too, with the sales team using features from the platform to use within their own proposals.
