Digital magazine winners

For the second year running, White Light Media scooped the Best Digital Magazine category at the Scottish Magazine Awards – and dominated the category with three of the four shortlisted entries. The winner was Standard, our bi-monthly flash-based magazine for Standard Life, which we write, design and build on their behalf.

Strathclyde People, our alumni magazine for the University of Strathclyde, and Conference Call, for clients of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre, were also shortlisted. Elsewhere, we were delighted that our new recruit Christina McPherson won the Student of the Year award – we clearly chose well! In addition, from a field of 262 entries, the first issue of Hot Rum Cow was shortlisted for the Cover of the Decade. see detail →

Connected strikes Gold

White Light Media won the Gold Award for Best Magazine in this year's CIPR Pride Scotland Awards. The award went to Connected, the magazine we write and design on behalf of Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS). Published three times a year, Connected distributed to all teachers across Scotland. White Light Media transformed the design and editorial structure of the magazine after winning the contract to publish Connected in 2005. After retaining the contract in two subsequent repitches, we have since enabled LTS to relaunch the magazine from an IT-focused publication to one that embraces all aspects of education. Above is the latest edition of Connected.
